Sinead O'Connor Piles On U2's 'Songs of Innocence' Release, Says It Was 'Almost Terrorist'

Sinead O'Connor recently recorded "Do They Know It's Christmas" with U2's Bono, but that didn't stop her from trashing the band's Songs of Innocence release.

"What they did with iTunes was a badly judged move," she recently told The Daily Mail. "There was something almost terrorist about it. I'm really not a U2 fan but it wasn't at all kosher invading people's lives like that. It was bad management."

Sounds like O'Connor is on the new Band Aid 30 "Christmas" project strictly to help out old friend Bob Geldof.

"I'm involved for one reason alone, and that's because I love Bob," O'Connor she said. "If he ever asked me to mop his kitchen floor I would, willingly."

Rolling Stone points out O'Connor has not shied away from criticizing artists she works with.

In the Daily Mail interview, she also went after Prince, who wrote her breakout single "Nothing Compares 2 U."

O'Connor called him a "frightening person," and went on to tell a story about the last time they saw each other (in the '90s).

"The row happened because he summoned me to his house to tell me that he didn't like me swearing in my interviews," she said. "I told him to go f--- himself...and it all went downhill from there."

Sinead is full of hot takes, but she seemed to have a positive message in her most recent album, I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss.

"When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a 'leader,'" told RS in June. "Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded 'bossy,' Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys - a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead."

As previously reported: Band Aid Thirty's version of "Do They Know It's Christmas" is the fourth reincarnation of the track, which was previously recorded in 1984, 1989 and 2004. All profits from digital downloads of this year's single will go toward the Band Aid trust to fight Ebola in Africa.
