The hatchet appears to be buried between Lorde & Diplo as they settled their "beef" where it began; Twitter. They e-kissed and made up on Monday as Diplo offered to take Lorde out to the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 premiere that night in Los Angeles. As Lorde was not in town, she politely declined, but it seems they are alright now, and in a new interview with Fader, Lorde goes over their relationship and why she decided to call him out.
The fight broke out when Diplo tweeted out a kickstarter to buy Taylor Swift a booty. Lorde fired back about his apparent tiny penis. The two tweets caused a stir on the web, and fans thought there might be a serious beef developing between the two. Major Lazer had just contributed to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack alongside Ariana Grande and as MTV points out, Diplo lent Lorde his scarf during the dust bowl of Coachella to help her protect her face, so much of that was overblown.
Lorde is a very good friend of Taylor Swift's and they even share early stages of songs with each other to get another set of ears. With that relationship as solid as it is, Lorde explains why she was not cool with Diplo's twitter antics. "I love Wes and he's a big brother to me and one of my first friends in the industry, and part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid shit." She continues, "Taylor's my friend as well, and I'm a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed I'm going to be like, "Hey man..." We do still love each other, hopefully."
I think we can put this all to bed now. Let us not forget, Diplo did a remix of "Tennis Courts" over the summer for Lorde. it is time to get back to making great music.
