The Based God cursed NBA MVP Kevin Durant. This is a real thing that happened. Now, Lil B is apparently holding lectures at colleges and adding insult to (Durant's) injury. Deadspin found video of B calling out KD at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
When an audience member inquired about B's love for Durant, he responded thusly: Thank you so much for bringing that out there. I do. I want to say, to answer your question: yes, I do love Kevin Durant, and I appreciate him, and I appreciate the NBA.
Then someone asked if B would lift his now-legendary curse on Durant if the star came to play for the Washington Wizards.
If Kevin Durant came to D.C., would I lift the curse? Well, does Boston love D.C.? [Awkward applause] OK, so I didn't just say something stupid. Everybody was looking at me like-I was thinking I said something wrong! But no, if he came to D.C...I would...uhhh...you know, me and Kevin-me and Kevin got a game to play. Once Kevin is off his injury from the Based God's curse. I pray for the Thunder team, I pray for them.
You probably don't have any idea what the hell is going on here, do you?
Let us explain: The Based God began throwing shade at one of America's most cherished basketballers when Durant made the mistake of dissing his music on Twitter.
XXL reported in 2011:
Lil B then challenged Durant to a game of one-on-one, saying if Durant lost, he has to sit and listen to Lil B music and make his girls listen to it too. Durant accepted the challenge, saying if he won, Lil B has to retire from rapping.
After that, things got messy, and Lil B provided us with the not-quite-subliminal song "F--- KD."
Here's the hook:
F--- Kevin Durant
F--- Kevin Durant
F--- Kevin Durant
F--- Kevin Durant
Perhaps a more sadistic move was the curse Lil B decided to put on Durant in 2011.
"KEVIN DURANT WILL NEVER WIN THE TITLE AFTER HE SAID "LIL B" IS A WACK RAPPER," B tweeted. "'THE BASEDGODS CURSE' #THEBASEDGODSCURSE ON DURANT - Lil B."
He lifted the curse after Oklahoma City lost in the NBA Finals the following summer, but that was before "F--- KD, " so who knows.
This September, things appeared to come to a close.
"I keep hearing it every time I sign on to Twitter and Instagram, it's this Lil B stuff coming up," Durant said. "But, I don't have no problem with Lil B."
Now, we have the lecture to end all lectures:
