'The New York Times' Uses Fake Kanye West Quotes, Rapper Did Not Compare Kim Kardashian's Butt to His

Even The New York Times makes mistakes. The news outlet used a fake quote attributed to Kanye West in a recent column titled "Fear of Kim Kardashian's Derriere." A satirical website called The Daily Currant originally published the false quote, which had the rapper talking about his own butt.

"I don't understand why everyone is focusing on Kim's booty." The Daily Currant wrote as West. "Obviously I love her ass. That's why I married her. But nobody has an ass like mine. I have one of the top three asses of all time. My booty is like Michelangelo level, you feel me? It's like a sculpture."

The website also gave the quote a fake source, a radio station in Chicago called WGYN. The Times also cited that source, which led to a retraction by the publication.

"An earlier version of this column was published in error," the statement read. "That version included what purported to be an interview that Kanye West gave to a Chicago radio station in which he compared his own derrière to that of his wife, Kim Kardashian. Mr. West's quotes were taken, without attribution, from the satirical website The Daily Currant. There is no radio station WGYN in Chicago; the interview was fictitious, and should not have been included in the column."

Most of the world has, in one way or another, been captivated by Kardashian's behind after a recent magazine shoot for Paper magazine. It's scored praise from Lorde and criticism from Kris Jenner.
