Diplo & Skrillex (Jack U) Talk Hip Hop, Upcoming Music & More With DJ Whoo Kid [LISTEN]

The Jack U media circuit continues. Skrillex and Diplo have been on the road hitting various radio and TV stations, promoting their new project and getting support behind their show at Madison Square Garden on New Years Eve alongside Rudimental, A$AP Ferg and Yellow Claw. Their latest stop and most likely not their last, was on DJ Whoo Kid's Sirius XM radio show 'The Whoolywood Shuffle,' where they discuss a whole variety of topics including their affinity with hip-hop, how EDM and hip-hop are blending in youth culture and the future of music (via Do Androids Dance).

The duo dive in further during the 25-minute interview to discuss their show at Madison Square Garden, unveiling that they have another single and a mixtape coming before the show so their fans can hear the music they will be playing at the show. They also talk about one of their running mates that night, A$AP Ferg, who according to Diplo and Skrillex has an incredible passion and drive to make music that Diplo compares to James Brown.

The humorous interview hits on further topics like Diplo's past interaction with Kanye West, who used to buy vinyl from him in Philadelphia, smoking weed with Snoop Dogg in Jamaica and why there are so many Jamaicans in Canada.

The duo have been on a hectic press ride, hitting major media outlets normally reserved for hip-hop acts, but the crossover nature of Jack U and the largesse of their status in the music community has allowed them to make the appearances on these networks. The two of them hit 'Ebro In The Morning' on Hot 97, 'Big Boy's Neighborhood' on Power 106, BET's 106 & Park and Skrillex went on 'Howard Stern.'

Jack U just released the video for "Take U There" featuring Kiesza and with the list of collaborations and unreleased material already announced, Jack U fans should be excited for new music before the New Year. Stream the interview on Whoo Kid's soundcloud page below.
