Mayday Parade To Record New Album In 2015, Drummer Says

Mayday Parade have been slowly ascending toward Billboard dominance since releasing their 2007 debut, A Lesson In Romantics. The Tallahassee rockers followed that uncharted release with 2009's Anywhere But Here (No. 31), 2011's Mayday Parade (No. 12) and 2013's Monsters in the Closet (No. 10).

But until Thanksgiving, fans weren't sure when the band would begin working on their next project, which — basic math tells us — will certainly be a Top 10 hit.

On Turkey Day, drummer Jake Bundrick posted the following message to Instagram:

So thankful to have met these dudes when I did, that I get to see the world with them and that we get to record another record together in March. #5 #ThingsImThankfulFor

Derek Sanders offered up info on the new LP during a late summer interview with Property of Zack.

"Right now, I have 11 or 12 song ideas that I feel really excited about, which is a lot further along this early in the process than usual," Sanders said. "It's all stuff that I'm really excited about, and I know the other guys have ideas that they're really excited about too. We'll start getting together in 2015, start piling those ideas together and fleshing out the songs, and then we'll start recording the next album.

"In the past we've talked about doing an EP. I think for this one we'll do another full length, and then maybe I would think we could do an EP between the next album cycles. But it's tough to say. It just depends on how it all works out and makes sense."
