Yesterday, Lil Wayne took to Twitter to blast his longtime label Cash Money Records in a series of tweets after alleging the label won't release his upcoming album Tha Carter V and declaring that he wants off the label. The album has been subjected to a series of constant delays and the New Orleans rapper is tired of it. Despite his comments yesterday, it appears that things are being smoothed out between Birdman's Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne's camp (via MTV). TMZ caught up with Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant outside of an L.A. nightclub and to see if there was any friction between the two parties.
Bryant assured the TMZ cameraman who questioned him in the nightclub parking lot about the situation that "Everything was all good." The inflection of his voice denotes otherwise, making it seem like there is definitely some internal tension that is bubbling up and becoming public. The TMZ cameraman pushes Bryant on Tyga as well who responds that the situation is "good" as well. When asked where else they might go, Bryant responds, "We aren't going anywhere" as he closed the scissor doors on his incredibly expensive sports car. The price tag on the car tells the story.
It seems as though there is much more to the story then is being led on right now, but either way it appears that Bryant is trying to resolve the issue in house rather than out in the public like Lil Wayne yesterday.
We will see if Lil Wayne goes on any more Twitter tirades over the next few days, but from his manager's attitude, it would seem like Bryant is keeping the situation under wraps and wants to settle things privately.
