Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter V' to Be Released First Quarter of 2015, According to Young Money President Mack Maine

Young Money's president Mack Maine went on Miami radio 99 Jamz to try and clear the air on the Lil Wayne/Cash Money/Tha Carter V situation that has dominated discussion on websites and social media. Mack Maine spoke to host Felisha Monet in an interview about the hot topics affecting Young Money, like the continued delays of Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne's recent outbursts on social media and how the relationship is between Young Money and Cash Money under the same YMCMB umbrella, via Complex.

Speaking on the status of the album, he reassures fans that it will be out in the first quarter of next year:

"He's touching up the album and about to start another special project for the people. I can't give a definitive date [for Tha Carter V]. I can just say first quarter for sure. ... It's coming out. Don't get it twisted like it's not coming out."

Mack Maine reveals that Tha Carter V will be released in two parts, as he emphasizes that the album is being released for the fans. He continues on the theme of the relationship between Lil Wayne and Cash Money, trying to downplay the public beef and who is at fault.

"I wouldn't pinpoint anyone personally," he commented. "It's just some business that's going [to] need to be handled. ... Once that's handled we're going to keep moving. And it's getting handled as we speak. I support Wayne 1,000 percent. I feel like this matter will get resolved. Period. If I'm still around it'll be resolved."

Keeping with the theme of Young Money, Maine dished on another member of YMCMB to publicly lash out at the label — Tyga — and how that is unfolding behind the scenes:

"At the time I felt like he shouldn't have been on social media discussing our family business. That was my way to let him know, 'Don't forget: We supposed to be family.' It wasn't like I took a major shot at him.

"We spoke once. We in the middle of talks right now trying to get it resolved. ... It's no bad, bad blood. We still professional. We still family."

We will see in the coming months if Mack Maine's vision comes true and the relationship can be made whole again. Keep an eye out for more developments.
