With his Los Angeles Lakers in town to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night, Kobe Bryant needed nine points to pass Michael Jordan for third place on the NBA's all-time scoring list after coming up short two nights ago. When he got them, Twitter blew up!
It didn't take long for the future Hall of Famer to accomplish the feat, as he sank two second-quarter free throws to push him past MJ. The Timberwolves then halted the game and allowed Bryant to receive congratulations from most of the players and coaches on the floor.
Following the big to-do, Wolves owner Glen Taylor presented Bryant with the "game ball." Then play finally resumed. Check out the full scene below:
