Bobby Shmurda Pleads Not Guilty to Conspiracy, Drug and Gun Charges, Bail Set at $2 Million

News broke yesterday that Bobby Shmurda (whose birth name is Ackquille Pollard) had been arrested at Manhattan's Quad Studios, the same site where Tupac was first shot 20 years ago, along with several members of his GS9 crew. Today the public has learned what he has been charged with. The "Hot N---a" rapper has been charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of conspiracy in the third degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia (intent to sell and possession of narcotics). He faces 8 1/3 to 25 years if convicted on the conspiracy charges and a maximum of 15 years on each weapons charge. He was found with three weapons on two separate occasions. Shmurda's bail is being set at $2 million right now. Pollard's attorney Howard Greenberg tells Complex that Epic Records will be paying the $2 million bail with insurance money.

The charges stem from a long-term narcotics investigation run by the NYPD and a designated Brooklyn task force.

Pollard, who rose to fame because of his single "Hot N---a" and the resulting vine video, has become one of the most intriguing prospects in hip-hop in 2014. He signed a deal with Sha Money XL and Epic Records and released his debut EP through the label, Shmurda She Wrote in November.

We will keep you apprised on any additional updates on this story, but it doesn't look good for Pollard and the GS9 crew.
