Hayley Williams sees a big problem with the current Christmas music scene. It's not that she's anti-Christmas -- she just wants a better selection of "heavy" holiday tunes.
"There aren't enough heavy Christmas songs, they're all pop or country songs," she told NME. "I want something that I can bulldoze around to."
Paramore has never released a Christmas single, but there's a certain band Williams would love to see give it a go: Turnstile, "a hardcore band" that Williams believes to have "this heavy '90s influence. I feel like it would have had a lot of attitude."
There are other changes she'd like made in the music industry, too. We previously reported that the "female" tag that comes along with Paramore has irked her. Now, she's owning it.
"I've always been like, 'I don't want you to call Paramore a female-fronted band. I just want to be a band,'" Williams said. "But I make the distinction now because I grew up not really placing much value on the strong women I was listening to."
She also listed the women who inspired her as a young musician.
"I love Debbie Harry and Siouxsie Sioux," Williams said. "I grew up listening to The Distillers, so Brody Dalle was a hero. Girl groups are really important to me, but the Shangri-Las especially. As far as more current acts: Joy Williams, Gwen [Stefani] and Beyoncé. I am always watching and trying to learn from them - they're smart and calculated, but still free."
In Williams' honor, we tried to find the most hardcore Christmas song possible, and came up with this. Enjoy:
