In February, Drake was quoted by Rolling Stone saying some controversial off-the-record comments that dissed other rappers like Jay Z, Kanye West and Fabolous. The fallout from those comments has since died down and all parties have kissed and made up since they were all friends before and remain friends after. Fabolous never spoke on those Drake comments, until he was posed the question by MTV and he brushed off the whole ordeal, revealing that it was taken care of privately.
"He apologized that I was even brought into that whole mess," Fab told MTV. "I was shocked. Out of that conversation where they were talking about Jay and Kanye, for my name to come up in that mix, it definitely seemed like it was spoken up. It's over, it's under the bridge. I got a lot of respect for what Drake does and he's expressed to me personally, so we move on from there."
This quote stems from the Drake quote, where he fired shots at Kanye West's critically acclaimed album Yeezus, remarking as reported by Complex, "There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that 'Swaghili' line? Come on, man. Fabolous wouldn't say some shit like that."
Kanye would later blame "the media" for the controversy and trying to turn artists against each other and even later on in the article, Drake praised West saying, "Kanye and me are friends; we're plotting on getting some work done together. Kanye's the reason I'm here. I love everything about that guy."
Fabolous remained remarkably silent as HipHopDX points out; he was one to record a diss song at the drop of a hat. In an era where artists seem to air all of their dirty laundry on social media, it is nice to see some things get resolved in private.
