Congratulations are in order. Brooklyn rhymer Fabolous just announced a new management deal with Roc Nation. He also announced the release date for his forthcoming album The Young OG Project, revealing its album art and a trailer.
According to HotNewHipHop, the word of Fab's new management deal was shared via the Roc Nation Twitter account. Fab also took to social media to spread the news and encourage fans to follow his Keek account.
Fans of the Soul Tape 3 rapper were already ecstatic prior to the Roc Nation announcement. Hours before, Fabolous revealed that he would be releasing The Young OG Project on Christmas Day. He also released the official cover art and a video trailer.
Back in August, Fab talked about a new album, which everyone assumed would be the highly anticipated Loso's Way 2. The album was first mentioned back in 2010 but since then, it seems as though the project has vanished into thin air.
As for The Young OG Project, the title is a nod to a cut from ST3, Fab says it will be "very '90s-inspired and '90s themed."
"It was a golden era in hip-hop to me," he said. "It was where I fell in love with hip-hop and really admired everything that was going on within the culture."
And for those anxious to hear what Fab has been cooking up, he's prepping the upcoming street leak of a track called "Lituation."
"You can come into a situation and it can be [calm] and you can turn it up and get it a little lit. It's a very aggressive New York street record and I wanted to start with that just to get the feel, and get you there first, [then] the rest of the album will take you different places."
