Former Ku Klux Klan wizard David Duke spoke out against Nicki Minaj and several music producers during his online radio show on Tuesday, condemning the "absolute filth, drugs and violence" in contemporary hip-hop.
Billboard reports that Duke, who has made unsuccessful runs at the U.S. presidency and the U.S. senate, spent an hour spewing some serious vitriol at the rap community.
The 64-year-old Oklahoman called out "our Jewish-dominated media and our Jewish-dominated awards ceremonies" for emphasizing a genre he sees as a threat to the American ideal.
Because Duke is a former KKK leader, it's no surprise his criticism was filled with racist remarks.
"One of the Jewish producers who's boasting about the fact that every one of the top 10 Billboard songs were those he controlled -- even rap music is not something that blacks really are responsible for," Duke said. "It was the Jewish record producers who promoted this degenerate and sick and horrific music."
He called Minaj's music "disgusting and horrific and violent and drug-drenched," but put the blame for her messages on others.
"Why do people blame blacks like Minaj?" he asked. "Because Minaj wouldn't be a pimple on somebody's rear end except for the fact that she is promoted by the Jewish record producers and the media, the mass media, the powerful media, that promotes absolute degenerates like her."
Naturally, you should take Duke's comments with a grain of salt. He's well-known for holding ultra-controversial opinions (he doesn't believe the Holocaust occurred) and has been jailed for federal tax fraud.
His official website is eery.
"If you believe, as Dr. Duke does, that it is vital to oppose the evil plans of the Jewish Supremacists, then one of the most important and effective things you can do is to 'arm' him with the resources to carry on the fight," it reads.
This is one beef that Minaj the record companies can stay out of. After all, people have been ignoring Duke for decades.
