Periphery Release Single 'Graveless' From New Double Album 'Juggernaut' [LISTEN]

Periphery have been holding their own in the prog rock scene since their eponymous 2010 debut. With two albums and two EPs already released, the group is ready to drop a new double album, Juggernaut.

We already got a preview with "The Bad Thing," and now Periphery are letting the world in on a second song, "Graveless."

"'Graveless' is one of my favorite songs on the record!" bassist/programmer Adam "Nolly" Getgood told Ultimate-Guitar. "It's fast and aggressive, but morphs into something beautiful and catchy as the song progresses. There's an element of the classic Periphery sound in there, but with all band members pushing to take things to the next level it's got a whole palette of colours that the band hasn't explored before too."

Band founder Misha Mansoor sat down with Prog Sphere in 2014 after the release of Periphery's Clear EP. He spent much of the interview discussing the new album, which will be available as Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega on Jan. 27.

"It's all coming together very fast and very easy," Mansoor said. "You know, sometimes it's all of us in a room and that was one thing that we thought might be little bit of recipe for disaster, because it could a lot of people yelling at each other. [laughs] But it's all been very painless."

Mansoor also said that this recording process was different than anything else they've done.

"The plan is after this, after everything comes together and is complete we pick sort of the best songs and put those on an album," he said. "But we'll also rehearse for the first time ever, we never really had the time to do that, but we want to kind of rehearse and get the feel for these songs."
