The initial reports of Slash and wife Perla Hudson splitting appear to be accurate. TMZ is now reporting that Perla is hiring a lawyer to get her share of the former Guns N' Roses guitarist's wealth that he accumulated since their marriage in 2001. The rocker's wife assumes that Slash has made tens of millions of dollars in the past 14 years.
According to court papers, Slash filed for divorce last month. He's asking for joint custody of the pair's children, Cash and London. The official date of separation is listed as June 15.
News of the pair's split surfaced last week. Perla reportedly took the children to Hawaii for the weekend so the pair could work on their issues. This is the second time Slash filed for divorce from his wife. The legendary axeman wanted an official split in 2010, but he decided to give it another go and the couple renewed their wedding vows.
"I never actually was one of those guys that said I'm gonna be single forever and never have children," he said a few years into the union. "I just never made plans for it, so when it happened, it was, like, at the perfect time in my life. It's like, if it had happened a second earlier, I couldn't have handled it, 'cause I was too out there. Then when the kids came, it actually sort of secured me, more than anything."
Slash, along with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, released a new album in September. World on Fire hit 10 on the Billboard 200. It's the guitarist's third studio album, following 2012's Apocalyptic Love and 2010's self-titled effort.
