Steve Angello Reveals Tentative Release Date For Album 'Wild Youth'

Steve Angello fans, the Size Records boss has some great news for you. Replying to a fan on Twitter, a space where he is quite active and talks to his followers quite often, he stated that his highly anticipated album Wild Youth would be released in April 2015 (via Dancing Astronaut). The former Swedish House Mafia member did not specify when in April, but it is good to know that the album will be arriving soon after a period of indefinite delays due to battles with Columbia over the album.

The album was tentatively supposed to be released during the fall of 2014, but according to Thump, after a clash with Columbia Records where he had signed the record, he reportedly managed to wrestle back control of the album to his own label Size Records. There had been a reported disagreement over the promo given to his single "Wasted Love" featuring Dougie from The Temper Trap, which is a primary reason why he signed to the label.

Columbia Records has had a pretty good recent record with dance acts in the past few years that have included the masterful marketing scheme surrounding Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and Krewella's Get Wet, but Angello was not happy here.

Angello spoke to Variety about his inspiration for the album and what fans can expect sonically on it.

"I was really inspired by the live elements of music. There's something about organic instruments and musicians that I could never let go of. Here I've been working with more strings, guitars and bass, real drums, arranging songs differently and stripping them down. In the few years I've been trying to break out of the ordinary function of a dance song."
