Las Vegas is seemingly about to get a little more diva-licious in 2015. After reports surfaced that Jennifer Lopez turned down an offer to appear on the famous Vegas strip as an artist in residence, more rumors are swelling that the Elusive Chanteuse herself, Mariah Carey, is coming close to inking a multi-million dollar deal with a major casino.
According to new reports from Page Six, the "You Don't Know What To Do" singer is close to signing a residency deal with Caesars Palace. Though Carey is still reportedly in negotiations to come to Las Vegas for the long term, she's apparently seeking more than Britney Spears's $30 million to do it.
There are obviously no concrete details surrounding Carey and a visit to Las Vegas, but Caesars is reportedly aiming to have her hit the Strip before the end of the year.
The residency is looking likely for Carey, who toured on her new album Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse in Asia but has yet to book any U.S. tour dates for 2015.
A residency in Las Vegas would be a big draw for both the city and Carey, who is currently raising her 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe as she divorces from her husband Nick Cannon.
Carey is also a major name for Vegas. Though her latest album Me.. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse has underwhelming sales and singles, Carey is one of the best-selling musical acts of all time, having sold over 200 million copies of her albums throughout her 24 years in the industry.
