Rae Sremmurd Talk SremmLife, Nicki Minaj, Kris Kross Comparisons And More On The Breakfast Club [WATCH]

Rae Sremmurd, brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, stopped by Power 105's The Breakfast Club this morning to celebrate the release of their debut album SremmLife. The first Breakfast Club guests of 2015, the duo talked about the concept for the album, their road to success, their new found fame, and more. When they first arrived, they gave out copies of the Captain America comic book that featured them on the cover before launching into the interview.

On whether they think the album came out too quickly:

"Man we did a lot of hard work. If we did the work to make the album, I don't feel like it came out too quick. I just felt like when that joint dropped it was gunna be like [bangs on table] you aren't gunna be able to turn it off. Like I already know. It's live; it's good energy. It's not just party music." -- Jimmy Slim

On working with Nicki Minaj:

"She on "Throw Sum Mo" with Young Thug. That sh*t's a crazy record. When we shoot that video, we gonna change the game again." --Swae Lee

On how they don't have a type regardless of only liking "bad b*tches":

"Say I see a Latina and she's 6'1" right here; she's bad as f**k, I like her. Then here is see an African-American, 5'8" brown eyes, I like her, too. My type is bad b*tches, but I like all of them. I might like this brunette right here, but then I might like this blonde right here. I can't just put a type on it. She can be tall, skinny, blue eyes, she can be Moroccan. She can't be ugly, though." -- Swae Lee

On comparisons to Kris Kross:

"It's a good thing to me. I used to bump Kris Kross. We got good energy. We turnt. Just like they say [we] remind you of Kris Kross, ten years from now they'll be like, 'Y'all remind me of Rae Sremmurd.' That's what we're trying to go for. We're trying to build our credentials." -- Swae Lee

On the SremmLife concept:

"It's not all party music. We got a song on there, one of my favorites, called 'YNO,' which is an acronym for young n***a on for real. It's just a good song, basically telling our struggle, a little bit of our struggle. It's just a different vibe for Rae Sremmurd because y'all always get party music, so we're giving you something else. SremmLife is a pass. If I was to like break a rule, I could just say, 'SremmLife,' and it would make it okay. Then it's also riding in the front seat, Sremmlife. It's just a pass. A life pass." - Swae Lee

"SremmLife is like how we view the world. Every artist expresses themselves in a different way, and this is how we express ourselves, so that's what Sremmlife is." -- Jimmy Slim

Elsewhere in the interview, they talked about dropping out of college, their time as Dem Outta State Boyz, and more. Watch the full interview below, and let us know what you think in the comments section!
