Amsterdam Dance Event may feel like it just ended, but the weeklong industry event in Amsterdam has already announced the dates for this year's conference. In its 20th year, ADE 2015 will take place between Oct. 14 and Oct. 18. The five days will be filled with daytime conferences, meetings, nighttime performances, club shows and much more. The conference expects to draw 365,000 industry folks and international visitors to the welcoming canals of Amsterdam, as aspiring DJs, managers and other members of the industry rub elbows and network at various panels and conferences held throughout the city.
2014 saw panels on a whole variety of topics including sustainability and environmental awareness in dance music, the next generation of producers, visual technology and stage design and a discussion on harder genres of electronic music as noted by DJ Times.
ADE has been traditionally known as a place to get business done heading into the winter so DJs and labels can have direction as to what they want to get done during the period of European hibernation before coming back out in March to party in the Miami sun during Winter Music Conference. However, ADE is becoming more of a celebration of dance music as more DJs are starting to throw parties and labels are hosting curated events at venues around the city, including Heineken Music Hall and the Ziggo Dome. The capstone of ADE is the DJ Mag party at the Amsterdam Arena, where the top 100 DJs are counted down to the number one DJ and the trophy is presented to the winner. In October, Hardwell won for the second straight year.
More information regarding lineup, conferences and panels will be announced over the coming months. Stay tuned to the ADE website for more updates and you can submit suggestions for what subjects you would like to see covered and who you would like to see speaking.
