Beck 'Morning Phase' tracklist revealed: 'spiritual successor' to 'Sea Change' due to hit shelves in February

It's been just a little over a month since Beck has announced his new record deal with Capitol Records and 12th studio album Morning Phase. Now, the follow-up to 2008's Modern Guilt has received an official tracklist.

Yesterday (Dec. 2), Revolt TV visited Capitol Records and got a first listen to the new record, and in the process, revealed the 12-song tracklist to Morning Phase.

Check out the Morning Phase tracklist below:

1. "Morning"
2. "Heart is a Drum"
3. "Say Goodbye"
4. "Waking Light"
5. "Unforgiven"
6. "Wave"
7. "Don't Let It Go"
8. "Blackbird Chain"
9. "Evil Things"
10. "Blue Moon"
11. "Turn Away"
12. "Country Down"

When Beck initially announced his first record in six years in October, the alternative rocker stated it would be the "spiritual successor" to his critically-adored 2002 album Sea Change, featuring similar instrumentation and even many of the same musicians as that release.

Sea Change marked a new era in Beck's music, featuring melancholy lyrics and instrumentation. Lyrically, the album largely deals with a major break up that Beck had suffered over the previous year.

Morning Phase has yet to receive an exact release date. However, the record is due out in February 2014. Though the record will be Beck's first studio album since 2008, that doesn't mean he's been totally out of the music world. Last year, he dropped an "album" of sheet music, which he has since played live. Additionally, Beck released two new singles this year, "I Won't Be Long" and "Defriended."
