First, Kelly Clarkson had her adorable baby River Rose Blackstock, then she released her peppy comeback single "Heartbeat Song," and now the original American Idol winnger is prepping her new album. Today (Jan. 26), Clarkson announced that her eighth studio album Piece by Piece has a release date.
In a recent interview with Elvis Duran, Clarkson announced that she was "pretty certain" her Wrapped in Red follow-up will be released during the first week of March. In that same interview, she also announced that the album's title is officially Piece by Piece. And now, there's one more piece to the album's release: Just Jared reports that her new RCA Records effort will drop on March 3.
However, Clarkson herself has yet to confirm that release date.
Piece by Piece will be Clarkson's eighth studio effort. Little is known about the new album, though it has received its lead single "Heartbeat Song," which Clarkson released earlier this month. The grooving, upbeat pop track finds Clarkson returning to her pop roots after dropping the country single "Tie It Up" in 2013.
The album will be Clarkson's first full-length effort in two years; she last released her holiday album Wrapped in Red in October 2013. Her last album full of original songs, Stronger, was released in 2011.
The new release date for Piece by Piece isn't the only bit of news to come out of Clarkson's camp today. She also premiered the neon colored music video for "Heartbeat Song." Watch that clip (and sing along) below:
