Just as most people go to a festival for the headliners and true fans stay for the rest of the lineup, most people just go to a festival and call it a day, while the party animals head out to the afters well into the morning. As a two-weekend festival, Coachella is known for the two weeks of parties that take place around the two weekends, before it, during both weekends and in between them. The shows take place all across Los Angeles at venues like El Rey, The Glass House, The Roxy, Fonda, The Echo, Club Nokia and elsewhere. What has been dubbed by some as "Localchella," artists like FKA Twigs, Action Bronson, Madeon, Interpol, Belle & Sebastien and many others will be appearing at this year's sideshows.
Officially kicking off with Jenny Lewis at The Glass House on April 7th, the "Localchella" features some very interesting pairings and shows throughout the 12-day stretch. Much like Coachella, the shows highlight a wide variety of different genres with Caribou, Ratatat, The Orwells and others all playing shows. Several artists have been booked twice over the 12-day period like Jenny Lewis and the Desaparecidos, who have their own headlining gig on the 13th with Touche Amour and Joyce Amour at The Roxy and then are supporting Built To Spill and Brand New on the 15th.
Other intriguing shows include Chet Faker and XXYYXX on the 15th at Belasco and Belle & Sebastien with Mac Demarco on the 16th at the Fox Theater.
The shows will take place April 7-11 and 13-18. They will go on sale at different times depending on the venue and the date, so check the individual show for details.
