Everyone may be buzzing about the 2015 Grammys this week, but that’s not the only music awards ceremony In town, of course. Today (Feb. 4), iHeartRadio announced the nominees for its second annual iHeartRadio Music Awards. Like the Grammys, Sam Smith and Iggy Azalea lead the pack with five nominations apiece, followed shortly by Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift, who’ve notched up four nods each.
As Billboard reports, Smith, Azalea, Swift and Grande not only lead the pack with the awards, but they’re also nominated for the biggest award of the night, Artist of the Year, alongside country megastar Luke Bryan.
Smith is also up for Song of the Year (“Stay With Me”), Best New Artist, Dance Song of the Year (“La La La” with Naughty Boy) and Best Lyrics (“Stay With Me”). Azalea not only joins Smith in Best New Artist and Artist of the Year, but the “Trouble” rapper is also nominated for Best Collaboration (“Fancy” and “Problem”) and Renegade of the Year.
The latter category is a new edition, marking the accomplishments of “an emerging standout artist that defies convention and breaks boundaries.”
The second annual iHeartRadio Awards will take place on March 29 and air simultaneously on NBC and iHeartRadio stations. Performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
