Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones top list of biggest touring acts of 2013

Go to any concerts during 2013? You aren't the only one. Plenty of performers have raked in big bucks via the touring circuit this year, and Billboard has just released its list of the Top 25 tour earners for the last 12 months.

Bon Jovi was the biggest moneymaker, as his band brought in a total gross of $205,158,370, thanks to selling out all 90 of its shows. Jon and company attracted nearly 2.2 million fans. Second place was somewhat sketchy in our opinion. Whether Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour by Cirque de Soleil counts as a concert is debatable, but it still made a healthy return. The show brought in $157.3 million, playing 205 shows.

For those doing the math, that comes out to $2,279,537 for Bon Jovi. We think that the Rolling Stones, who finished no. 6 overall, should get some recognition for winning the per-show ratio. The band earned more than $126 million over 23 shows, totaling nearly $5.5 million a show. That's why they only tour every five years or so.
