The beloved mother of rock icon Jon Bon Jovi, Carol Bongiovi, has died.
She passed away just days before her 84th birthday at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Jon shared a heartfelt message on behalf of his family following Carol's passing, according to E News.
"Our mother was a force to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family. She will be greatly missed."
Carol's cause of death has not been disclosed.
A private funeral service is scheduled in honor of the iconic mother, with Holmdel Funeral Home overseeing the arrangements.
Carol established and managed the Bon Jovi fan club for years. Her life was rich and diverse, as she successfully ran several businesses alongside her role as a dedicated member of the US Marine Corps from 1959 until she crossed paths with her husband, John Bongiovi Sr.
In a book published in 2005, Laura Jackson explored into the life of the singer and highlighted the pivotal role his mother played in nurturing his musical talents from a young age.

Carol reportedly bought Jon an acoustic guitar at a young age, which sparked his interest in learning to play instruments. As the "It's My Life" singer entered his teenage years, he became dedicated to mastering the instrument, as detailed in the memoir.
The book describes how Carol and Jon would stand side by side in front of a large mirror, enjoying themselves as they sang and performed their favorite songs.
Carol and John Bongiovi Sr. made a home for their family in Sayreville, New Jersey. As time passed, they decided to move to Holmdel, New Jersey, where Carol resided until her passing.
Carol was fortunate to witness her son achieve legendary status during her lifetime.
In a statement made in November 2020, the "Blaze of Glory" hitmaker expressed gratitude towards his parents for instilling in him and his siblings the power to turn their dreams into reality.
Speaking to The Big Issue, the 62-year-old rock star said, "Even if you truly weren't any good at your craft, if you believed you were, you could work on it."
He also affectionately recalled how they encouraged Jon to pursue his passion from a young age, allowing him to take the stage for performances at just 17 years old, a decision he now views as outstanding.
In the music video of the band's heartfelt ballad "Story of Love," released in 2021, the artist paid tribute to his parents by singing in front of a nostalgic black-and-white photograph capturing his parents in their youth.
