Jon Bon Jovi has been a rocker for decades, making him one of the most legendary musicians of all time. It's only fitting for younger musicians to ask him for advice, but he recently revealed his feelings whenever they approached him.
The Bon Jovi frontman dropped by SiriusXM, where he expressed his true feelings about "younger guys" like Ed Sheeran, who have been seeking guidance because he is a veteran in the industry.
Describing the "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker, he said: "He's one of the greats... Ed is a sweetheart. I've met him over the years a number of times. We were hanging out. He and his wife and babies have come to spend, you know, like the weekend at my house."
He then explained that when artists like him get to a certain age with a particular experience, younger artists would come to them like "the Ghost of Christmas Future."
"And they start asking a lot of questions, like how and where, you know, and they looked to that," he added.
Later, he gave an insight into the songwriting process of his collaborative track with Sheeran titled "Living in Paradise."
He recalled the British singer putting himself into Jovi's predicament.
"When we were writing it, he was, you know, putting himself into my predicament and, you know, because like I'd said, he and Cherry are so sweet and, you know, just trying to figure out those ropes," he added.
Despite sealing his legendary status, there are still people that Jovi looks up to and wants to collaborate with. He mentioned in the interview that one of them was Leonard Cohen, but he had already passed away. However, he considers Paul McCartney and Paul Simon to be future collaborators. He was also named Mark Knopfler, among many others.
Jon Bon Jovi released his latest album, Forever, last month via Island Records.
As of this writing, his band has yet to announce tour dates, and he doesn't have upcoming solo shows. This comes after the musician underwent vocal surgery in 2022.
Touring for the rocker is still unclear because of his self-mandate that his vocals are enough to perform more than two-hour shows four times a week.
Regardless, he's looking forward to seeing his fans again, saying he's optimistic daily.
