Drake Drops Surprise New Album 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' Featuring Lil Wayne, Travi$ Scott and More

Drake has surprised the music world by releasing a new album on iTunes last night. The most recent representative in the surprise-album market is If You're Reading This It's Too Late, a somewhat snarky title taking aim at the way in which it was released. This comes on the heels of yesterday's news that the emcee had released a 14-minute film titled Jungle, which features a rather depressive Drake reflecting on his current status, plus archival footage of his life in Toronto. We can't comment as of yet if this mood carries over to the new album.

At least a few of the tracks will be similar to hip-hop fans: Drake released "6 God" along with two other tracks during October, the last time he had released new music, aside from singles. There's also a track titled "Used To" that features Lil Wayne...it may be a new version of the single Weezy dropped off of his Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, featuring Drake in the more prominent role instead. Travi$ Scott and PartyNextDoor also make guest appearances.

It makes sense that Drake would be putting out new music. His last release, Nothing Was The Same, came during 2013 and he hasn't been one to wait too long between albums. Many assumed the 2015 release would be Views From The 6, an album Drake had hinted at during July of 2014. No word on whether that album still exists as a separate project, or if it was rolled into If You're Reading This. Three songs feature the digit "6" as part of the title.
