The end of the years is approaching but that just means there’s plenty of new music coming in at the last minute for you to compile into even more mixtapes! This week’s list consists of new songs from Speedy Ortiz, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tokyo Police Club, and more! Let’s see what this past week had to offer us for our latest mixtape!
Tokyo Police Club haven’t released new music for about two years now, but this week the indie rock outfit premiered the epic “Argentina (Parts I,II, II)” off of the upcoming 2014 record. Coming in at just under nine minutes long, this new track is a great and exciting opener for this week’s mix!
RIYL: The Thermals, The Replacements, Pavement
Moving right along, we have brand new tracks from Tiger Waves, Speedy Ortiz, and Young Fathers. This eclectic mix of artists will add a great blend of sound into this mix.

One of the biggest stories in music this week (and possibly the year) is the release of Beyonce’s new self-titled album without any promotion or single. Our next track comes from Boots, the producer responsible for 85% of that album. His track “Haunted” is definitely a step away from the pop superstar’s sound and is a great addition to our collection of music.
RIYL: James Blake, Jeff Buckley
It’s always a good idea to include a cover in a mixtape, so Charlotte Gainsbourg’s rendition of “Hey Joe” made our list! Originally performed by The Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Gainsbourg teamed with producer Beck for this cover to help promote her character Joe in the upcoming film Nymphomaniac.
RIYL: Feist, Vanessa Paradis

UK’s London Grammar treated us all to a long-lost gem this week by releasing one of the trio’s earlier recordings together. “Everywhere You Go” is much more along the lines of folk as opposed to the group’s usual sound, but that makes it even more special!
RIYL: Ellie Goulding, Laura Marling

We’ll increase the energy on our mixtape this week with a great new track from Mad Decent’s LIZ. Her latest number “All Them Boys” is a great mix of pop, electronica and R&B.
RIYL: Miley Cyrus, Mel C
The New York indie rockers in Yellow Ostrich are preparing to release their latest album in 2014, Cosmos, and the first track was premiered with the album announcement. “Shades” is a great tune to start winding down this mix as the soaring guitars compliment vocals harmonies that come together in a messy composition.
RIYL: Local Natives, My Morning Jacket, Grizzly Bear
Let’s finish off this week’s mixtape with a great holiday track. Danny!’s “Deckin’ Halls (and Jinglin’ Bells)” is a superb modern take on the classic symbolism of Christmas.
RIYL: Childish Gambino
This mixtape would be a great stocking stuffer, but if you want to gift it before the holiday you should give it to a friend that’s usually bummed out by Christmas. You know you have one of those friends.
