Major Lazer has released their first lead collaboration of 2015, and it is a big one. The trio of Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire have shared their new single "Lean On" featuring DJ Snake and Swedish singer MØ.
Major Lazer are known for bringing a carnival atmosphere to their live shows that involves shirts coming off and possibly being lost, one or both artists rolling over the crowd in an inflatable ball and a large group of dancers on stage.
"Lean On" is different from that Caribbean-inspired, festival atmosphere, though the rhythms remain similar. Diplo, Walshy Fire, Jillionaire and Snake create a more subdued song, similar to something like "Get Free" with a offbeat rhythm and pitched-up synths with MØ crooning out her message of togetherness with lyrics like "all we need is somebody to lean on" in the break.

Obviously influenced by their trip to India late last year, Major Lazer chose the god Ganesha as the background of the cover art. As the god of wisdom, knowledge and new beginnings, MØ's message of believing in each other is a wise one.
This single could be from Major Lazer's upcoming album. In a previous interview, Diplo had said that there would be two, eight-track Major Lazer albums released in 2015, with the first coming in February, but that had been pushed back because of Jack Ü. In an interview with CBS on the Grammy red carpet, he gave an updated timeline for Major Lazer, stating that the untitled LP would arrive in April.
The album will feature the likes of Travi$ Scott, Gwen Stefani, Pusha T, Ariana Grande and Ellie Goulding.
With the dust still settling from Jack Ü's surprise album release and their 24-hour album party -- almost 24-hours: It got shut down by the cops with close to eight hours left -- Diplo remains continuously productive with more music.
