U2 have reunited with its old label Island Records to release their upcoming studio album, which is due out in the Spring.
According to Consequence of Sound, the band was discovered the label in the late 1970s and stayed with them until seven years ago when their management change moved them to Mercury. After Universal close Mercury earlier this year, however, U2 was forced to shop for new labels. According to The Guardian, a source explained, "They are going back to their spiritual home."
U2 is currently at work with Danger Mouse on the new record. As CoS notes, the sessions include some time at Electric Lady Studios in NYC. The album is reportedly going to be a return to an older U2 sound.
