Flaming Lips cover Beatles' 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' to prepare for New Years Eve cover show [LISTEN]

What are you doing New Year's Eve? No matter what it is, it's likely not as awesome as The Flaming Lips, who will be performing a set of John Lennon-inked Beatles songs at Aspen, Colorado's Belly Up.

Teased as taking fans "Across The Universe while floating in The Sky With Diamonds" by the venue's website, the Flaming Lips will be rocking out to songs such as "Come Together," "Across The Universe," "Dear Prudence" and "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey," according to SPIN.

In a move that makes the most sense in the history of bands covering the Beatles, The Flaming Lips will also take on "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" from 1967's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Over the weekend, the psychedelic rockers released their cover of the track in full and, surprise!, it's just as trippy, spacey and wonderful as you would expect.

Clocking in at a wondrous six minutes, nine seconds, listen to The Flaming Lips' cover of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" below, via SoundCloud.

Tickets for the Belly Up show has sold out. However, if you got a Sirius radio subscription from Santa Claus this year, Sirius XM radio channel Jam On will be broadcasting the New Year's Eve concert live.
