Not to be outdone by Sónar's expansionary news yesterday, March, 9, Ultra Music Festival has unveiled new plans for festivals later this year in Macau and Bali. Ultra made the announcement late last night.
These would be the fourth and fifth Asian festivals for Ultra as part of their "Ultra Worldwide" takeover. The single-day events will be held later this year as Ultra heads into its second year of Asian festivals. As one of the Road to Ultra events, it is a single-stage event leading up to the Miami festival, The Macau edition will be held June 13 at the 30,000-square-foot Club Cubic in the massive casino City of Dreams.
Ultra Bali will be heading outside to the Indonesian island's Potato Head Beach Club and W Hotel Sept. 25.
These new Ultras will join the pre-existing massives in Thailand, Japan and South Korea. Thailand remains a one-day affair like Bali and Macau, but Korea has expanded to two days and Japan has announced three days for 2015.
Ultra has lined up the events to be at the same time as each other, presumably to pool artists for the festivals. Ultra Korea will be June 12 to 13, Ultra Thailand June 12 and Macau June 13.
Details on tickets and lineups are to follow soon.
These Asian festivals are all primers for the main event in Miami, which is set to take place in just a little more than two weeks, which will feature acts like Skrillex, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Steve Angello, Alesso and others.
See the poster below for the full Asia expansion by Ultra. It may not be done with these two latest festivals.
