After several different previews over the past few days, Usher and Martin Garrix have officially announced their collaboration together and given the track a release date. "Don't Look Down," the pair's song together, will be released through RCA Records and Garrix's label home Spinnin Records in just five days March 17, according to a press release.
A preview has been posted on Instagram. For those of you who only know Garrix for "Animals," fear not. He ditched the minimal, festival-driven sound for something more melody-focused that would suit the strengths of Usher's voice. You can only tell so much from a 15-second clip, but this has the makings of a big hit that should get a lot of radio play in the coming months.
According to social media back and forth between the two star artists, it appears that the track was made recently and they are getting it out quickly. It is being listed as a Martin Garrix featuring Usher track, a coup for the young Dutchman, but the accelerated timeline could be to get the track out in time for Winter Music Conference in Miami March 23. This is when everyone in the electronic music industry gets together to party and have meetings and notably show off the new music producers have been cooking up over the long winter months.
Stay tuned for any longer previews between now and March 16. If not, get ready for "Don't Look Down" in five days.
