Someone tried to make it seem like Miley Cyrus hates Beyoncé

Someone out there tried to make it seem like Miley Cyrus was throwing some major shade at Beyoncé, and now both the "Adore You" singer and Love magazine are looking to find out what happened.

Earlier this week, several outlets reported that Cyrus thought that motherhood destroyed Beyoncé's career and that the "Drunk in Love" singer was "out of the game."

"Beyoncé has been a big inspiration to me but she's been out for such a long time. She's so talented and I think she's at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game now, new blood," Cyrus was reported as saying (via US Weekly). "I got the total package, you know, the curves, the rhythm and the voice. I'm just the best."

Of course, the quote was totally made up, as Cyrus was quick to dispel the rumor on her official Twitter account.

"That quote people MADE UP about Beyonce just made me lol! Imagine if I said I got 'the looks and the curves I'm just better!' Bahahahhaha," she tweeted. "How are people allowed to make up s--- & then out quotes around it saying I said that s---! WTF!!?! Thank god I just woke up from this nightmare."

Soon after Cyrus' Twitter explanation, Love magazine admitted that Cyrus never said anything about Beyoncé in her interview. "@MileyCyrus never said anything to us about Beyonce, the quotes were made up and we're trying to get to the bottom of where this came from," the magazine tweeted.

The original source of the false quotes has yet to be unveiled.
