The curse strikes again -- or so Lil B is claiming. News recently broke that Oklahoma City Thunder All-Pro forward Kevin Durant was shut down for the remainder of the 2014-15 season because of a nagging foot injury that has plagued him all year and Lil B -- real name Brandon McCartney -- is claiming responsibility. He will lift the curse on KD if the b-baller plays him at a game of 21.
Speaking to TMZ, Lil B, also known by many as the "BasedGod," took credit for KD's current career struggles, saying the curse is responsible.
"He's still under it. Everyone who disses Lil B pays for it," he said.
According to Lil B, there is only one way to break the curse: Durant has to play him in a friendly game of basketball.
"All he has to do is meet on the basketball court for a friendly game of 21. I'm passionate about my game, my defense, if he doesn't beat me 21-0, he should be embarrassed," explained the BasedGod. "He knows the curse is affecting him. Everyone knows. He needs to see me on the court."
The pair have had a nearly four-year-long public beef, where Lil B famously said Durant would never win a title after the basketball star called him a "wack rapper." After this, Lil B put out a hilarious song called "F**k Kevin Durant," throwing down the gauntlet at KD.
Lil B addressed the rift during his recent lecture at MIT in November and appeared to be making ammends, but the curse still lives on.
"Thank you so much for bringing that out there," he said when asked about Durant, according to Fader. "I do. I want to say, to answer your question: Yes, I do love Kevin Durant, and I appreciate him, and I appreciate the NBA."
