"Man, I think they're probably the best comedy duo probably since, man, Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd, Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder, you know what I'm sayin'? They up there," he told XXL. "They feed off each other very well and they both some kick-ass clowns."
For those who have not seen the trailers, Ferrell plays rich man who receives a prison sentence for a crime he did not commit. He recruits Hart to prepare him for the "big house," assuming that he has been there before. Hart's cousin, played by T.I., actually has connections in prison, so the pair visit him in the movie to secure Ferrell's safety.
"I play a gentleman named Russell," T.I. said. "I play Kevin Hart's character's cousin. My character is ... Let's just say, they have reason to believe if ever Will's character had found himself in prison that I would be able to supply adequate protection."
So far, the reviews for the film have been poor.
But reviews were far better after T.I. dropped his ninth album, Paperwork, in October. The effort featured a slew of guest talent, including Iggy Azalea, Chris Brown and Usher.
"The connecting tissue is the masterful T.I. himself, who, on his ninth album, bows to no man: still rhyming internal bars effortlessly ('Here's a mental memento / You didn't know?'), still discussing the rap game and the crack game, still with a flow funkier than most," Rolling Stone wrote.
