Haim says 'Yeezus' was a favorite album last year and they want to tap into their "inner Kanye" in 2014

A lot of people start a new year with goals and a vision toward what's next, and the same is true for Haim sisters after an amazing run in 2013.

"Our New Year's resolution is to discover new things, go to new places and get inspired by different kinds of music," Alana Haim told Rolling Stone. "We've had the craziest year, and now we're at the point where we're ready for something new. We're excited about it."

With Days Are Gone, it was clear that the Los Angeles trio have pulled influences from the '80s, '90s, and genres from rock to R&B with their music, but they do have an artist in particular who will serve as a inspiration in 2014.

"We're always writing and figuring out new vibes and trying to get our inner Kanyes out," said Alana. Bassist Este Haim added, "We're going to tap into our inner Kanye."

The sisters have other goals as well, like using an exercise bike more often or making sure to pick up the phone and call mom more frequently. But Yeezus made a huge impact on Haim, and it's the standout source of resolution for the young women.

"I have yet to see Kanye not put out an amazing record - and people don't understand how hard that is," said Alana. "To make record after record and come out with something new and push the boundaries and have it succeed every single time is insane. If I could choose any brain to just chill in, for, like, 10 minutes, it'd be Kanye's. I just want to see what goes on up there. Because he's a genius."

We'll see what they come up with in the new year!
