Beyoncé might be hitting the big screen again! According to Deadline Hollywood (via Billboard), Bradley Cooper is making his directorial debut with a remake of the 1954 drama A Star Is Born and is reportedly looking for Beyoncé to star alongside him in the project.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Warner Bros. is currently in negotiations with Cooper to direct and star in the film and that "once the deal is done, their first stop will be to Beyonce." This won't be the first time that the "Drunk In Love" singer has been approached for the role. Back when Clint Eastwood was at the helm of the remake, she had been briefly linked to the film before her pregnancy with Blue Ivy caused her to fall out of the running.
The role she would potentially fill is that of aspiring actress Esther Blodgett (played by Judy Garland in the original) who works with Norman Maine -- a self-destructive former movie icon whose career is in decline -- in her quest for stardom.
Queen Bey's previous acting gigs outside of her own videos include the roles of Sharon in 2009's Obsessed, Etta James in 2008's Cadillac Records, Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, Xania in Pink Panther, Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers: Goldmember, and Lilly in The Fighting Temptations.
One things for certain, Beyoncé is well versed in acting for showbiz dramas and has no problems playing a diva.
As Deadline points out, Warner Bros. has been looking to remake the classic 1954 film for some time now. Before Cooper was on their radar, they had also looked into Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale as male leads.
