Earlier this week, Drake announced the physical release of his latest drop If You're Reading This It's Too Late. Now, word on web is the surprise album has already gone platinum.
As noted by ThisIsWalder, the album was released digitally on February 13, and since then, has sold 1,011,041 copies, the equivalent to the number of streams. According to the Sales Plus Streaming system, IYRTITL sold 535,000 copies its first week.
The surprise release debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and helped the Toronto rapper chart 14 songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100. He tied a record, set by the Beatles, that stood unmatched for 51 years.
As previously reported, IYRTITL will release in stores on April 21 with two additional tracks, including "How Bout Now," which Drake released last October, and the never before heard "My Side."
Fans can see Drake perform some of his new material next month at Coachella. Drizzy is slated to headline on April 12, along with closing out the show the following weekend on April 19.
Drake recently announced the lineup for his "6ixth annual" OVO Fest in Toronto. J. Cole will headline at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Aug. 2 as a part of his Forest Hills Drive Tour alongside Big Sean, YG, Jeremih, Bas, Cozz and Omen. Drake will headline the second night, as usual, with more "special guests."
The "Truffle Butter" rapper is also slated to release his Views from the 6 album, presumably some time this year.
In the meantime, congratulations are certainly in order for his latest release.
