The iHeartRadio Music Awards got a double dose of pop music royalty last night (March 29). For her planned performance of "Ghosttown," pop queen Madonna got a little accompaniment help from the biggest princess of modern music: Taylor Swift. And, of course, they both totally lost their cool in a post-performance love fest on social media after the fact.
Madonna stripped down the Rebel Heart track, giving a simple, straightforward acoustic performance (that eventually exploded into a fully loaded version). While the melody and Madonna's smoky yet sweet vocals were the real star, Swift managed to steal the spotlight by doing something plenty of her fans forgot she knew how to do: play the guitar.
And it was pretty epic.
Continuing her pattern of being one of music's biggest ever stars but still living the life of a crazy "fangirl," Swift totally lost her cool on Twitter after the performance, still questioning whether or not she's really living this life.

And Madonna was no stranger to loving on Twitter too, deeming Swift as her new favorite guitar player.
My new favorite guitar player! Thank you Taylor! Just you and I in #ghostown #rebelhearts pic.twitter.com/vYa80Ngo21 — Madonna (@Madonna) March 30, 2015
Even with no light we're gonna shine like GOLD! Thank you again TS. #rebelhearts pic.twitter.com/Yid5wdfFzP — Madonna (@Madonna) March 30, 2015
