Giuliana Rancic's year is really off to a lousy start, and all that stress seems to be taking a real toll on her. The E! star seems to be a lightening rod for criticism, and unfortunately in recent weeks she has brought a lot of it on herself. Her comments regarding Zendaya Coleman's Oscar ensemble brought backlash, and even after a well-publicized apology, Rancic was still taking verbal hits. Her diva antics are reportedly a catalyst leading to Fashion Police taking a six-month hiatus and, as of now, her job and marriage are said to be on shaky ground. In fact, she looks thinner than ever due to the stress.
While as of now Fashion Police is expected to return in September with Rancic still in the mix, nothing is set in stone. Executive producer Melissa Rivers realizes that sweeping changes are needed if there is any hope of keeping the show on the air, and casting for new hosts is certainly part of the plan. While Rancic has fought long and hard to have a successful career in Los Angeles, it has been doing a number on her marriage for quite a while.
When she first married Bill Rancic, they agreed to split their time between Hollywood and his beloved Chicago. As the years have gone on, he wants her to relocate so they can both be with their young son Duke full time. The recent scandal has supposedly caused Bill to lean a little harder on his wife about walking away from the limelight and re-evaluating things, maybe even deciding to put her family first.
The stress of everything is obvious. Even while playing with her son at a playground the other day, Rancic looked frail and bony. Her weight is another thing that has caused backlash, as former Fashion Police fans have spoken out about her unhealthy appearance, saying she helps to peddle a false ideal weight for young women.
Do you think it would be in Rancic's best interests to take some time away from Hollywood? Do you think she would end up healthier if she did or does she instead seem to thrive on the dysfunction? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
