For longtime fans, it's hard to accept the ongoing feud between Lil Wayne and Cash Money. The New Orleans rapper recently took another jab at the label and announced that Tha Carter V is coming soon.
During a recent performance, Wayne crushed any fans hopes that his beef with CM could be squashed.
"Free Weezy album coming soon. Carter V coming soon. F*ck Cash Money," he said and dropped the mic.
Earlier this month, Wayne Wayne's protégé, Flow, took shots at Baby and Young Thug during a Young Money cypher.
"Young motherf*cking Money/These my motherf*cking brothers not my f*cking hubbies," he rapped in reference to Thug's social media post where he often uses feminine lingo towards other men.
Lil Wayne has been at odds with Cash Money for some time now and things don't seem to be getting any better.
Back in January, it was reported that the "Truffle Butter" rapper had filed a $51 million against the label he helped propel into the mainstream.
According to the suit, CM withheld profits to Young Money and failed to pay Lil Wayne's advances.
"Cash Money has failed to properly account and pay royalties and profits to Young Money LLC in respect of the exploitation of recordings owned and commercially exploited by Young Money Label."
In the meantime, Baby and Young Thug have been promoting the new single "Check," which will be featured on the forthcoming Tha Carter 6 album.
The "Stoner" rapper has decided that he will continue Lil Wayne's legacy upon his retirement, naming his debut album Tha Carter 6. Considering the current circumstances that announcement didn't set well with many, especially as it appears Thug's album may be released before Wayne's Carter V.
It was initially rumored that Tha Carter V would be released in May 2014.
