Lady Gaga is not well known for taking to negative criticism well, so some new news may be upsetting for the "Do What U Want" singer. She's been nominated for an award for her acting debut in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills, but it's not an early Oscar nod. No, Gaga has been nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award, better known as a Razzie.
According to Deadline, Gaga is up against Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, Katherine Heigl and Salma Hayek for the title of Worst Supporting Actress for the 34th Annual Razzies.
In Machete Kills, Gaga plays the role of La Chameleon, a women who loves three things: high fashion couture, cigarettes and guns.
Critics largely panned Machete Kills, the third film in Rodriguez's Grindhouse film trailer series, and the movie has received a measly 30 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Moreover, the movie was a flop at the box office, raking in a paltry $7.3 million, far below its $12 million budget, according to iMDB.
Gaga isn't the only singer nominated for a Razzie. Selena Gomez, who has always acted in a variety of roles and starred on the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place also received a nod for Worst Actress for her part in the similarly floppy car chase film Getaway.
And Smurfs 2 as a whole, which featured Katy Perry as Smurfette and a new song "Ooh La La" from Britney Spears, was nominated for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
The 34th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards will take place on March 1.
