Possibly the year's biggest collaboration outside of "FourFiveSeconds," "Where Are Ü Now" by Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo just got a skilled drum cover by YouTube drumming sensation Luke Holland. The drummer adds his own touch to the electronic-tinged pop tune. We hear the original in the background, while Holland drums his own routine over it with some theatrics of casual stick flips in between cymbal crashes and hits on the snare drum.
The drum cover makes sense for a Justin Bieber record since the "Baby" singer is himself a talented drummer and got noticed in part for his skills as drummer. Watch the cover below via EDM Sauce.
The trio has been making headlines with their recent promo push for "Where Are Ü Now." Justin Bieber and Diplo joined Skrillex onstage for his closing set at Ultra Music Festival last weekend to perform the single as they ended the whole event with onlookers like Diddy on the sideline.
They have been discussing the record a fair amount in radio interviews over the past week.
Bieber told Ryan Seacrest how the track came to be, explaining, "It's a really cool, different type of record that ... basically it was a cool collaboration that happened really organically. I did the record here in LA and I sent it off to them and they put their little schtick on it and here we are."
Diplo speaking to Power 96 in Miami alongside Skrillex and Justin Bieber the day after their Ultra performance echoed that story, but from a different perspective.
"It was a really strong record that Justin wrote, it was like a ballad. I said,' Yo Sonny, man, listen to this record. We could f*ck this record up, this is crazy.'"
If you are a fan of this track, there is more to come according to Bieber, who told Power 96 that they were potentially going to make something together for his album.
"Yeah I think me and these guys are going to collaborate on my next record and do something special."
