American pop singer, songwriter and model Sky Ferreira has unveiled, purposely or not, the title to her long-awaited second album, Masochism. The LP acts as the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2013 debut studio album Night Time, My Time. She has been touring constantly since then, including heading out with Miley Cyrus support on her 2014 Bangerz Tour, continuing despite having to get 60 stitches in her shin after falling at a show in Anaheim.
She has not unveiled a release date of any kind or any more details, but fans will be excited to get this little bit of news that would indicate that the album is closer to being finished.
She spoke to Billboard back in November about what fans can expect from the album that the "I Blame Myself" singer describes as "more aggressive" and how it was will be a bit different sonically than what she has been doing in the past.
"Right now, I have the opportunity to try things," says Ferreira. "I'm enjoying myself a lot more. I think I'm in a different headspace than I was last time out, because so much has happened in the last year and a half. I think [the album] will be a little heavier. It's not going to be an electronic album completely — it's going to be a blend of everything."
She is working with an interesting collective of artists on the LP. She is reuniting with producers Ariel Rechtshaid and Justin Raisen, who manned the entirely of her 2013 effort. She is also looking to work with French producer, DJ Gessafelstein, who has collaborated with Kanye West in the past.
