In case you are new to the Internet, cat videos are a pretty big deal here -- so much so that they have their own film festival that is taking place in Toronto at the TIFF Bell Lightbox April 17. The event is put on to show off the best the Internet has to offer in terms of short and long cat videos of all shapes and sizes while also benefiting charity and inspiring others to adopt adorable little kitties. One of the people who will be a special guest next week at the Just for Cats 2015 film festival is Canadian producer and DJ deadmau5, who is a public cat owner himself and flaunts his two felines on the Web quite frequently.
His male cat, Professor Meowingtons, even has Facebook and Twitter accounts with followings that rival those of his DJ friends. He is also verified on Twitter and has a doctorate, which tells you something about the cat's legitimacy in society. Check out a clip of Professor Meowingtons "in action" below.
The Just for Cats Festival describes itself as being "devoted to the best cat-themed Internet videos.
"Co-presented with the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies, the smash-hit festival devoted to the best in cat-themed Internet videos returns to TIFF Bell Lightbox with a brand-new edition of furry frolics -- complete with a red-carpet walk and bona fide felines in attendance!"
Deadmau5 will be present prior to the first screening at the red carpet adopt-a-thon inside the atrium -- a helping hand to spur some more charity. Some of the lineup include some of the most famous videos of the past 12 months, like Henri Le Chat Noise, Yoga Cat, Hey Cat and Golden Kitty Award nominees, which includes Jedi Kitten Strike Back, according to The Toronto Star.
Once the tour is done in Toronto, it will continue in Montreal, Vancouver, Halifax and elsewhere.
