Jimmy Kimmel Live to film at SXSW for a week

Jimmy Kimmel is taking his late-night show down to Austin for the South by Southwest festival, according to Billboard. According to the article, Jimmy Kimmel Live will air five shows in March from Texas for the music, film and interactive projects 28th conference.

Guests for these special remote shows will include celebrities and musical performers attending the festival. Comedy segments shot at SXSW and around Texas will also be featured on the shows.

The show will air from Austin beginning March 10 through March 14 from The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts. "Austin is one of my favorite cities, and there is no place more fun than SXSW. I can't wait for March 10." If you can't find Kimmel while you're down there, he said he'd be the one "covered in barbeque sauce."

This isn't the first time the show has been shot remotely. In 2012, the show was filmed in Brooklyn for a week and was its second-most-watched week in the shows 11-year history. We'll have to see if the SXSW appearance will have the same ratings-boosting effect.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs on ABC weeknights at 11:35 E.T. What do you think of the news? Let us know in the comments section below!
