'RHOA' Phaedra Parks Likens Divorce to the 'Death of a Dream'

It has been more than 6 months since Apollo Nida began serving an 8-year prison sentence for identity theft and a slew of other financial crimes and his divorce from Phaedra Parks is inevitable. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star stopped to chat with Steve Harvey earlier this week and brought viewers up to date on her life now as a single mother. Fans of RHOA already know that Parks felt unsupported by several of her cast mates and she now calls the end of her marriage to Nida "the death of a dream."

Parks invested everything in building a life with him only to end up feeling conned by him and totally played for a fool. She was also quick to remind people that they really don't know all of the details. While several moments played out on reality television, so much was left on the cutting room floor.

"And like I always tell people reality isn't always real. You see a portion of our lives, a very small snippet, and you don't know the entire story...This is real life. I'm a mother. I have feelings like everyone else. I have these two great boys that I'm trying to raise into healthy strong men. This is not what I signed up for." explained Parks. She fully expected to be sharing parenting duties with Nida and building a family with him. Instead she has been left to pick up the pieces in the public eye.

In her interview with Harvey, Parks confirmed that Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes were very supportive and helped to drag her through some of the darkest days, but it seems that there is still some conflict with former bestie, Kandi Burruss. Her focus has been on adapting to single motherhood and raising solid young men. Do you think that Parks has carried herself well through all of the drama and public fallout?
