Madonna recently showcased her secret talent as a comedian. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (April 9), the Rebel Heart singer took on stand-up comedy for the first time.
During her sit-down with Fallon, Madonna revealed that she was a "closet comedian." When Fallon questioned whether or not she has ever done stand-up comedy, Madonna replied, "I haven't, I mean but, well I mean one day, I hope to."
Fallon then prompted Madonna to give stand-up a try. It was only fitting for The Tonight Show host to properly introduce Madonna as a comedian before she embarked on her new gig. "Ladies and gentlemen, we're in for a treat right now," he began. "She's an up and coming comedian making her stand-up comedy debut tonight. From Bay City, Michigan, please welcome the very funny Madonna!"
From there, it was on as the singer poked fun at her experiences with dating. She joked that she dates younger men and once even slipped up and asked her son, "Do you have any friends you could introduce me to?" She ended her comedic routine declaring why there's an "upside" to dating younger men. "There is an upside to dating younger guys and that is -- they are really good with phones. Thank you!"
Madonna's visit also included a performance of "B--ch I'm Madonna" where she was joined by Diplo.
The 56-year-old veteran musician shows no signs of slowing down. In an interview with Refinery 29 in March, Madonna expressed why it's important for powerful women to encourage other powerful women. "Well, it's important to be fearless and educated. You can't just say, 'I don't give a s--t, and I'm going to say what I want and do what I want and not be informed,' she explained. "You need to be consciously aware of what's going on in the world, and you have to know your worth. Your worth ultimately isn't on the outside of you, but on the inside of you - because that's what lasts."
